Applicants must possess a valid score in any one of the following national examinations:
- UGC-CSIR NET Fellowship (Lectureship or SLET alone is not valid)
- Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST)
- ICMR-JRF Examination
- ICAR-JRF Examination
- DBT-JRB Biotechnology Eligibility Test
- GATE score in Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or Biotechnology
- JGEEBILS examination
